RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Since its creation, LIFT has been collaborating with other research institutions; including the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and the Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) on research projects aimed at promoting sustainable forestry and valorization of forest resources for livelihoods improvement, poverty reduction and food security in Cameroon. Amongst the different projects led by LIFT, those on insect valorization have been the most fascinating.

PROJECTS ON INSECTS VALORIZATION FOR FOOD AND INCOME

LIFT is the pioneer institution in Central Africa to initiate research and economic projects on forest insect’s valorization and processing into innovative foods and feeds. Since its establishment in 2011, LIFT has been investigating to find ways by which the rural poor could valorize forest insects to enhance their livelihoods.
